Tune of the Month! #12

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

The tune of the month for November was Catharsis from the CD, Las Excentricas Aventuras Del Profesor Volcanova by the Kilaueas. One of our favorite tunes, and apparently yours, too!

This follows October’s most popular tune, Mimi’s Theme, from the Fathom This! CD, by the Fathoms. Congratulations to the winner and thanks to all who voted!

Izzy wants to remind everyone that voting for the December tune has begun.  So tune in and weigh in.  If you like a track that’s playing,  give it a “thumbs up” vote in the Live 365 player window.  Bragging rights are always at stake!

Pumpin’ Up the Playlist, Part 19!

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

It’s been about a month since since we’ve done one of these updates, but Izzy’s been busy! He’s quietly added a whole bunch of new surf tunes… again.

This time, they’re from Made in Antigua by the Wadadli Riders, Get Leid With The Alohas, Surf ‘N’ Burn by the Blue Stingrays (aka the Tom Pettyless Heartbreakers), Surf Panic ’95 by the Surf Coasters, Hotbox by the Aqualads, Revenge by the Aqualads, Murder On Beaver Street by The Route 66 Killers, It’s GO! Time by the Nebulas, Shores of Hell by Mark Brodie & the Beaver Patrol, I Dreamed the Best Part by the Intoxicators!, Surfin’ With the Astronauts, The New Adventures of the Surfin’ Gorillas, Saturday Night at the Duck Pond by the Tritons, Surfin’ the Southwest, Santa Fe Style by The Knights and, in honor of Spanky Twangler, tracks from Kings of the High-Speed Weekend by The Penetrators.

So, spend these “dog days” at the beach if you can. If you can’t, close your eyes, turn up the surf music and pretend you’re there watchin’ the waves!

Pumpin’ Up the Playlist, Part 17!

Saturday, June 20th, 2009

Izzy’s been slackin’ again! But, we’ve put him back to work, again, filling the playlist with more great surf tunes!

Since the last time, additions have included tracks from Intensity by the Bambi Molesters, One Million Dollar Surf Band by the Dead Rocks, Scelerats Syndicate by the Mobsmen,  X-Minus-One by the Metalunas, Searider by the Barbwires, Play R&B (and surf, too) Favorites by Impala, Seedy C.D. by Sons of the Pacific and The Further Adventures of Los Straitjackets by those guys in their luchador masks!

Plus, from some folks with whom you all may be more familiar, cuts from Waiting for the Tide by the Chantays, Wipeout by the Surfaris and Surfin’ to Baja by the Ventures and Spacial Disorientation by Dick Dale.

Since summer is here, we fully expect there to be more slackin’ ahead to then be followed with even more great surf tunes. So, enjoy both!

There have been lots of distractions around here lately, but that would not excuse a failure to add new surf music to the MutantSurfing.com radio playlist! And, since failure is not an option, that new music has been added for your enjoyment. Simple as that!

This time out, you’ll find tracks added from Swingin’ Planet by the Metalunas, Dig by the Thunderchiefs, Play Songs for the Surfin’ Set by the Aquasonics, the self titled Boss Martians CD, Bikini Crash by the Cave-4, Radio Waves by the Aqua Velvets, the KFJC Waves of the West compilation, as well as cuts by the Falcons, the Fentones, the Hunters and the Nu Notes from Phantom Guitars: A Cool Collection Of Twangin’ Guitar Instrumentals From The UK…oldies and goodies!

Plus, even as you read this more newbies are getting prepped to be added for next time.

Life is good!
